I Hate Getting Up In The Morning

(version 2) Mitch Murray, 1983 (mono), 1992 (stereo).  Recorded: 10-09-65

Johnny Kidd (voc) - John Weider (lead) - Johnny Spence (bass) - Frank Farley (drums) - Vic Cooper (keyboards)

This original recording of this song originally saw the light of day as one of the multitude of previously unreleased cuts on the See For Miles LP "Rarities". It was re-made some five months later without the Pirates (who were about to split if they hadn't already done so), but with orchestra backing instead for the flipside of "It's Got To Be You".

I said I hate getting up in the morning, baby
I wake up feeling so blue
When I gotta go-o-o-o-o, when I gotta go

I said I hate getting up in the morning, baby
When I've been dreaming of you
The whole night lo-o-o-o-ong, yeah
The whole night long

When I turn around
And find you there no more
I gotta shout down through that window
Mister milkman did you see my baby walking through that door

I said I hate getting up in the morning, baby
When I've been dreaming of you
The whole night lo-o-o-o-ong, yeah
The whole night long

(instrumental break)

After dreaming of you
I try getting back to sleep
But I can never seen to find you
Darling, everywhere I look for you I'm bumping into sheep

I said I hate getting up in the morning, baby
When I've been dreaming of you
The whole night lo-o-o-o-ong, yeah
The whole night long
The whole night lo-o-o-o-ong, yeah
The whole night long
